After 5 hours of walking the track, I hit the shop at Boomerang Farm looking for a curry pie and a beer. Chrissy greeted me from behind the counter and gave me “that” look…..a quick glance at the pie warmer and I knew what she was about to say. There were no pies……no curry pies….nothing! But with good reason, as she explained it to me it was like 6 minutes of mayhem when all the crew from the days ride confronted her wanting food. 25 pies and the pasties all gone? It’s all your fault Roy!!!
If there is anything to be said from that, it was a massive even for a half day session at the ‘farm’. Roy had brought a crew of 15 down with him, plus the local groms and chuck in a few locals, it was a great day out there. Shuttles were like clockwork,”Rodneys Run” was running hot and with “Milo” getting some pics(blinding half of them with the flash!) so there is sure to be a story or two.
We were also graced with the appearance of Remy Morton(with dad and Nick) and after his recent signing with Hutchinson UR, he didn’t waste time and throttled down a barrage of runs, that’s the only way one can describe it. Not only did he scare the b’jesus out of us on some of the berms but he managed to move more dirt with his tyres than we could with a shovel.
Awesome day, thanks to Bob and Shane for maintaining parts of the track this morning, a massive thanks to Alec who raked the track from top to bottom!
